Chanel Spring 2013 RTW and the Hula Hoop Bag

I've been so busy lately with my new project, The Vintage in My Closet, that I rarely got a chance to sleep. Who knew that working on an online shop's details is quite tedious. I'm just so happy that in 7days, my new online shop will be opening.

So in relation to my online shop, let's talk about the vintage aesthetic of Chanel and how it was treated with a modern twist by Karl Lagerfeld for it's Summer 2013 RTW... and of course we will talk about that show stopping Hula Hoop Bag.

So let's first have a look at my top choices from the Chanel Spring 2013 RTW.

So true to it's Coco Chanel charm, the collection is all about pearls, tweeds, and florals. It's still very feminine and conservative despite it's summery theme. Of all the looks in the show, I first gravitated towards this ensemble.

I see a modern Coco Chanel here. It's as if Coco Chanel was born today, she will definitely rock this look. A look for the modern independent woman who still enjoys a proper tea party with members of the high society. I'd also love to make this ensemble work for me.

I also adore the hats shown in this collection. The visor hats adds a modern yet elegant feel to each look. I would love to have one of those.

Now let's have a look at the other amazing accessories featured in the show.

Here's a mini version of the hula hoop bag. I kinda like how it looks. It's not what I expected from Chanel but I am intrigued. It looks cute and somehow I can imagine hanging it somewhere in my bedroom. Now let's talk about that stunning Hula Hoop Bag.

It is a HULA HOOP BAG. It's supposed to be a beach bag where you can carry your necessities. For some critics, it is already way out there considering that it is a Chanel show. You can virtually use it as an exercising mechanism or something due to it's huge size but I LOVE IT! I've always loved over-sized items, specially one of a kind ones.

I think Karl Lagerfeld is just having fun on this season's designs and he just wanted to take a big risk to include a novelty piece into this show. The Hula Hoop Bag definitely created some serious buzz and that worked to their advantage.

All in all, I love this collection and I adore the accessories of this show. At the end of the day, designers are all about selling dreams and I am completely sold.

So that's all for now my loves.

Au revoir!

  1. I always dream of owning Chanel clothes and bags. But deyyymmm, they're so expensive. Kulang pa ata, 2 months kong sweldo para sa isang bag! Haha.

Nice blog, I really like it :)
