FabulousJV goes Real Estate

As of this moment, I am already finished with all of my subjects in FIP Makati and I am now waiting for next year's graduation class. While waiting for my turn to move forward with my fashion career, I've decided to take a leap of faith and do what I've always wanted to do aside from fashion, Real Estate.

Even before I went to fashion school, there's always been a part of me that wants to know how the Real Estate industry works. When I was still working for an American bank, I've read several articles about various kinds of investments. During that time, I gained an interest in real estate, especially when I found  several articles stating that the Philippine economy is now being considered as a potential Tiger Economy of Asia. After doing my research and digesting the information that I acquired, I wanted to make sure that I board this real estate ship before it sails.

After doing my research on several real estate developers, I found a company that I would be proud to represent. My main consideration before joining Alveo was their projects and track records. Since Alveo is an Ayala Land Company, there's no more question about the company's integrity and ability to deliver their projects. One question that I asked myself really got me sold was... Given the money, will I buy an Alveo Property? IN A HEARTBEAT!

I've always wanted to live in Bonifacio Global City and I am completely head over heels for Alveo's latest development in BGC called High Street South. So after I determined that I have a strong belief in Alveo's projects, I needed to give myself a complete change of image in order to do my job well.

Going into Real Estate is the main reason why I had my hair cut. This also means that in the next few weeks, I will upload new items in The Vintage In My Closet to put items that can no longer fit my new image.

During my first day of work, our team visited several project sites while also exploring the amenities of each project. This also marks my first ever attempt to do wake boarding.

So that's what I am up to lately and the reason why I wasn't able to blog on a regular basis in the past few weeks.

Mega Young Designers Competition 2013 Episode 12 Review

Since I just started my new job as a Property Investment Consultant for Alveo-Ayala Land, I wasn't able to watch last week's episode. This week, I made sure that I watch the penultimate episode of Mega YDC 2013 by watching the replay with Rona.

Mega Young Designers Competition 2013 Episode 10 Review

It's been a very long week for me, which is why I am only posting my weekly review today. Since I got a new job as a Property Investment Consultant for Alveo (Yes! I am now juggling real estate and fashion), I realized that I have to carefully plan my blogging schedule from this point on. As per usual, I missed the Monday show because of the chaotic traffic in Makati. Anyways, let's now move on to our weekly review before I talk about how bipolar the Philippine weather is right now.

Mega Young Designers Competition 2013 Episode 9 Review

We finally got our much needed closure form last episode's controversial cliffhanger. Since I wasn't able to watch the show last Monday because of my Haute Couture class in FIP Makati, I made sure that my full attention is directed only to the replay episode. Thank goodness there's a replay every Sunday at 10am on ETC.

I know that this post is 2 weeks too late, as well as a few minutes late for a Throwback Thursday post, but I still would like to share my other Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2013 experience. This time I'm gonna talk about the Visions and Trends runway show.

My Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2013 Experience: Jag Origins and Nina Garcia

It felt like I haven't posted anything in this blog for ages since I was just so busy with a ton of school related stuff. For my first blog post for June, I want to share my experience at the Jag Origins event where they featured Project Runway Judge and Marie Claire Creative Director Nina Garcia.

Mega Young Designers Competition 2013 Episode 6 Review

I don't usually post my reviews this late at night, but for this episode I had to step back and reflect on what happened to be as objective as I can for this one. I'm not going to lie, I had a violent reaction about this episode which I will discuss later. As usual I'm going start from the top and then elaborate on my notes as I watched the show.

Polyvore Crop Top Contest

So like I said before, I am so into Polyvore right now. It is my escape from the Third World issues that I have to deal with everyday while exercising my styling prowess.

Project Blouse Complete!

What I love most about our school is that I always have this sense of achievement whenever I finish a project. I love that I have a venue where I can unleash my creative prowess even if I am still making basic articles of clothing.

Polyvore and The Red Pumps

As someone who's a late bloomer and is just starting in fashion right now, there are still a lot of things that I needed to learn. One of the things that I recently discovered is the amazing website called Polyvore.

Mega Young Designers Competition 2013 Episode 4 Review

Aside from seeing people break down and all the drama that comes with being a part of Mega YDC 2013, we also got a new japanese word to add to our vocabulary. "It's subarashii" (it's fabulous), was what Tetta Matera said upon seeing the collection of House Quiñones.

Style Origin and Style Souk 2013 at Greenbelt

Makati never fails to amuse me. There's just something always happening somewhere in the city. Like last Thursday, after my sewing class, my friends and I decided to watch a movie. After we reserved our tickets for Iron Man 3, we figured that we had to kill time and so we decided to explore Greenbelt.

Mega Young Designers Competition 2013 Episode 3 Review

It's official, I can't watch Mega YDC on Mondays because our new term at school will start tomorrow. Since our class is from 9am to 6pm, I wouldn't make it on time to watch the show on TV. I guess I will have to write my reviews after the show's replays every Sunday. Anyways, let begin our weekly bloodbath shall we?

Tubong Pilipino and Bamboo Art at Glorietta

Just like any other school day, I was walking pass Glorietta when I decided to deviate from my usual route and check if there's any mall event of some sort. After all, I left school early and I wasn't ready to go home without any interesting moment for the day.

Mega Young Designers Competition 2013 Episode 1 & 2 Review

It's been days since my last post, but as promised I am back with my review of Mega YDC Allstars. I may not be a media expert or work on TV but I do watch numerous Reality TV Competitions, it's one of my guilty pleasures in life. From America's Next Top Model to The Face, Project Runway to Ru Paul's Drag Race, I am the target audience for these types of shows so I guess I am quite familiar when it comes to these shows format. So since this will be for episode 1 & 2, brace yourselves because this might be my longest post to date. Let's carry on with my two cents of the show shall we?

Sewing Class Project No.1 @ FIP Makati

It's been a while since I last posted a project that I made in school. After my short sabbatical, I decided that I need to start from the basics in order to hone my sewing skills. I've already tried rushing a garmet to it's completion so now I want to do it the right way.

Good News: Updating Old Tank Tops for Summer!

It's undeniable that summer is here! As I've mentioned in my previous post, I now have to update of wardrobe to keep up with the weather. So what can we do if we are broke and can't go shopping? We start a project to update our old clothes!

Good News invited me to share my ideas on how we can turn those old boring tank tops into something more stylish.

Itadakemasu! Going Japanese for Lunch! ^_^

They say that in life there's no such thing as a free lunch. I guess they just don't have friends who loves to cook!

I just can't live in a world without sushi!

A long time friend invited me to be his guest for their finals in Asian Culinary. The good news is that they are doing Japanese cuisine and all I have to do is show up looking all fancy. There's no catch just sushi!

Exhibit: Ann Pamintuan's Sculptures and Designs

After meeting my new classmates, I asked them if they want to walk with me to the Ayala MRT Station instead of taking a cab from school. I told them that if we walked around we may find something interesting along the way and fortunately my hunch was spot on.

Since Greenbelt is right around the corner from FIP Makati we were able to catch a display of Ann Pamintuan's works.

Going Bald: My Sister's Fight Against Cancer

Its been weeks since my last blog update and now I am back with a handful of stories to tell. Ironically, my last blog post was about what I wore when I joined a gameshow and now life decided to throw us a curve ball by giving my 12-year-old sister Stage 3 Cancer.
